She was predeceased by: her parents, George Douglas and Martha Douglas (Garret). She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Angela Slaunwhite (Shawn), Sharon Messervey (Duane), Clifford Messervey, Ronald Messervey and Mark Messervey (Michelle); and her sister Elizabeth Braithwaite (Ken). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
