With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gary James McDow of Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 31, 2025. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary James McDow to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Richards and Joan Richards (McDow); his stepsons, Stephen and Chevie (Debbie) of Alberta; and his brothers, Bobby and Ronnie.
He is survived by: his aunt Shirley (McDow); his close friend Lloyd Cleveland; his pets, Bogie and Oscar; his girlfriend Elizabeth "Bette" Publicover; his stepdaughters, Deborah Askew (Harold) of Alberta, Shelley and Shawna; his grandchildren, Ashley, Robyn, Liam, Sylvannah, Courtney, Jaylyn, Justin and CJ; and his siblings, Ralph (Cathy), Ricky (Carol), Darlene and Shelly (Norm). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax, NS B3P1K6).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
