He was predeceased by: his parents, Giuseppe Catalano and Francesca Catalano (Zucco); his wife Maddalena (Delle Fratte); and his brothers, Salvatore and Antonio.

He is survived by: his children, Marisa (Francesco) and Umberto (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Jessica (Simone) and Natascia (Andrea); and his siblings, Francesco, Pasquale and Anna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
