It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elaine (MacDonell) Pugsley of Halifax, Nova Scotia, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on January 10, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Smyth MacDonell of Judique Intervale and Florence MacDonell (MacDonald); her husband Donald Carlyle Pugsley; and her brothers, Eldred MacDonell, Ronald MacDonell and Stanley MacDonell.

She is survived by: her children, Dr. Donald Pugsley (Kathleen MacPherson), Sheila Pugsley (Mark O'Connor) and Moira Pugsley; her grandchildren, Erin (Logan MacLean), Arianne, Lauren and Jaiden; and her sisters-in-law, Muriel MacDonell and Beth Pugsley (Wolfe).

“I am so sorry to hear of Elaine's passing. She and I were genealogy friends and although we didn't stay in constant contact I truly feel her loss. In fact, to-day I was reading the first letter I received from her in 2000 in which she had me confused with another family, however we did stay in contact, especially at Christmas. My condolences to her family. Gail Macdonell”
