He was predeceased by: his father Dale Brown; his father-in-law Harold Cairns; and his grandparents, Donner, Etta Brown, Paul and Helen Kiehne.

He is survived by: his mother Betty Brown (Kiehne); his wife Julia Cairns; his siblings, Steve Brown (Renee) and Paula Beal (Brad); his siblings-in-law, Michael Cairns (Anne) and Jennifer Cairns; his mother-in-law Nancy Cairns; his nieces and nephews, Tayler Fazil (Jeremy), Reagan Day (Jake), Zach Beal (Tayla), William and Patrick Cairns; his great-nephews, Eli Fazil and Brooks Beal; and his great-niece Sophia Fazil.
