He is survived by: his wife Doris May Wells (Jennex); his son Phillip Wayne Wells; his grandson Jesse Wayne Wells; his brother Robert Desmond Wilson Wells; and his sister-in-law Iola Heisler. He is also survived by several nieces, cousins.
