She was predeceased by: her parents, Anne Flemming and Stan Flemming; her husband Fred Owens; and her brother David. She is survived by: her children, Anne Marie Adiletta (Peter), Paul Fiander, Victoria Devenish (Patrick) and Christopher (Leonard); her siblings, Norman, Patricia and Sara; her grandchildren, Sarah, Emily Fiander, Christopher and Lauren Adiletta; and her close friend Maurice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
