It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bessie May Dunick (Halifax, Nova Scotia), born in River Hebert, Nova Scotia, who passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Bessie May leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ripley and Viola Estabrooks (Saunders); and her stepfather John Estabrooks. She is survived by: her sons, Gordon John Dunick (Ashley Akyurek) of Vancouver and Leith (Cathy Metcalf); her grandson Nolan Dunick of Thunder Bay; her former husband John Dunick; and her friends, Peggy Sanford and Doris Ernst.
