It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Marie Cookson of Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Hayes and Dorothy Hayes (Myatt) of Kolkata Church; her daughters, Carolyn Muise (Andrew) of Halifax and Nancy Lafitte (Tim) of Cole Harbour; her grandchildren, Greg Halifax (Brianne), Ashley (Nick), Megan (Dustin), Scott (Val) and Katie (James); her siblings, Bruce Hayes (Reta) and Christine Matheson; her aunt Vera Boutilier; her husband James; and her sister Gwen Sheppard (Gerald). She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Crohns and Colitis Canada foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
