He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sr. Mansfield and Marion Mansfield (Borden); his siblings, Josephine of Toronto and Fred; his foster siblings, Nellie and Roland Brodie; and his sisters-in-law, Cathrina and Marion.

He is survived by: his siblings, Clyde (Martha Jane) of Toronto, Albert (Lynda) of Toronto, Sunnyville of Toronto, Herbert (Janice) of Toronto, Maurice of Toronto, Michael, Roland (Mary Anne), Brian (Nancy), Sydney, Yvonne of Gander, NL, Verna (Doug), Ruby (John) and Sunnyville; and his brother-in-law Howard Byard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS.
