He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton of Manchester, NS and Jane (Martin); his wife Dorothy Hope Simpson (Hull); and his siblings, Beulah Paisley, Violet Wallace, Olive Gardener, Lillian Nickerson, Edna Simpson and Albert Simpson.
He is survived by: his sons, David Simpson and Gary Simpson (Beverly); his foster daughters, Margaret Johnston, Florence Cameron and Carla Johnson; his grandchildren, Danielle Marple (Brendan), Shannon Simpson, Matthew Simpson (Kara Gibbs), Joshua Simpson (Molly Leadlay), Jennie Arsenault (Lucas), Amy Morell (Ross), Crystal O'Connor, Alissa O'Connor (Mark), Nick O'Connor (Amy), Kayla O'Connor (Charles), Donald Holmes, Natasha Holmes and Kendall Shreenan; and his daughters, Florence, Margaret and Carla. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
