He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen; his child Jacqueline; and his grandchild Desiree. He is survived by: his children, Darrel (Denise), Wayne (Jennifer), Beatrice, Ronnie (Rita), Darlene, Jamie, Tina (Kevin) and Stephen (Donna). He is also survived by his nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in memory of Earl may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
