He was predeceased by: his father Foster Gordon Dort; and his siblings, Stephen and Melinda. He is survived by: his wife Laura Mae Dort (Benoit); his son Phillip Ross (Sarah); his grandchildren, Alexander James Lewis MacDonald, Maximus Phillip Bray MacDonald, Parker Loraine Dort, Paige Riley Dort, Penny Jean Dort and Eli Peter Dort; and his siblings, Tim (Hilda) and Heather (Kevin). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
