He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Burns and Sophia Burns (Pride); and his siblings, Bill, Freeman, John, Bernie and Annie.
He is survived by: his stepmother Kathleen Burns (Kaye); his significant other Caroline; his children, Betty Grover, Arthur Burns, Tor Bay and Daniel Burns (Tammy) of Windsor, N. S; his son-in-law Willard; and his grandchildren, David (Renee), Darlene (Donald), Rhonda (Todd), Todd (Janice), Sheila (Rufus), Leslie (Patricia), Thomas (Ashley), Michael (Willow), Christopher (Erika), Shelly (Bartok), Sean (Sylvia) and Jeffrey (Melanie). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews.
COVID protocols require masks be worn and proof of vaccinations shown at the visitation and funeral.
Memorial donations in Basil's name may be made to St. Luke's Anglican Church.
