Reta Mae Layes Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Reta Mae Layes (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia), born in Birch Grove, Nova Scotia, who passed away on January 9, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Smith and Emma Smith (Drover); her husbands, Aulay Peach and Lloyd Layes; her sons, Terry and Trevor; her grandson Bradley; and her siblings, Sadie, Ella, Mary, Gladys, Olive, Muriel, Myrtle, Eugene and Kenneth.

She is survived by: her sister Shirley; her children, Roy (Shauna), John (Cynthia), Nancy (Laurie) and Paul; and her grandchildren, Angela (Patrick), Erin (Alex), Leanna (Aaron), Richard (Jenna), Anthony (Angela), Shelly and Jennifer (Blaine). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Regretfully, there will be no funeral service due to Covid restrictions.
