She was predeceased by: her parent Henry Slaney; her husband Gerald; her son John Benedict; her grandson Jamie Steele; and her daughter-in-law Gerry Turnbull.

She is survived by: her parent Rachel Slaney (Budge); her children, Gordie (Sandra), Eddie (Joannie), Ernel (Jackie), David, Fred, Johnnie (Deanna), Greta Boland (Wayne), Marcella Byrne (Brian), Leona Baldwin (Gary), Darlene McMullin (Danny), Brenda T. Kennedy, Geraldine Carabin (Barry) and Patricia MacDougall (Gordon Brann); her brother Ted Slaney (Teresa); her siblings-in-law, Connie Turnbull and Noreen Slaney; and also, Quebec and Joe O'Dea. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
