He is survived by: his mother Catherine Ryan (Pineau); his wife Leona Ryan (Murphy); his daughter Terra Sovinsky (Mike); his grandchildren, Ella and Tyler; his sisters, Darlene MacMullen (David), Kim Horne (Jimmy) and Krista MacLean (Kevin); and his siblings-in-law, Gloria McNeil (Alex), Esther Truckair (Bob), Darlene MacPhee (Gordon), Mary Peddle, Joseph Murphy and Barney Murphy (Kelly).

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Vince Ryan Memorial Scholarship Fund.

“He my uncle and I can't come up with enough words to praise my uncle Danny in may 1 1996 by holiday Florida where my aunt Lee and Danny lived my fiancee Lori Ann boutlier dad died in a car accident and Lori Ann never the same anyway my uncle Danny drove two hours a day to Tampa general hospital and waited 11 hours then drove back to his house for almost 3 months and I would even say uncle Danny take few days off no way not one day this man missed I love you uncle Danny Paddy MC Phee”
