She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Smith and Gladys Smith of Glace Bay. She is survived by: her siblings, Sheila Latham (David) of Toronto, Mora Smith (Jerry Murphy) of Glace Bay and Angus Smith of Glace Bay; and her nieces and nephews, Sarah Boutilier (Ryan), Kendall Murphy (Jessica), Ellen Murphy (Chad Gillard), Taylor Smith (Rachel) and Emily Smith (Alex Baranowski). She is also survived by eight grand-nephews and four grand-nieces.
Donations in memory of Jeannie can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the Cancer Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or to a charity of one's choice.
