The memory of Elizabeth Edna Nearing (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia), who passed away on October 30, 2024 at the age of 86, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Turner and Ellen Turner (Johnson); her husband Sonny Nearing; her siblings, Frank, Ralph Turner and Ellen MacCormack; and her children, Janet and Timothy.
She is survived by: her sister Janet House; her children, David, Darlene Glace Bay (Donnie), Sandra (Bernie) and Debbie Dupuis (Mark); her grandchildren, Taylor (Taylor), Aaron Cameron (Sydney), David (Connie), Brian Nearing, Tammy (Keith) and MaryAnne Nearing (Arthur); her sister-in-law Nancy Duncan; and her great grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Keaton, Brycen, Colby, Blake and Carley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Patten Funeral Home (71 Union St, Glace Bay, NS B1A2P6). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (8 Marconi St, Glace Bay, NS B1A2P3).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna's memory to St. Mary's Church, or a charity of choice.
