He is survived by: his parents, Martin Bates and Annie Mae Bates (Arsenault); his siblings, Patsy Morrison (Hughie), Marie Murphy (Stuart), Martha Green, Leone Brown (Sheldon) and Bill Bates (Shirley); and his children, Jessica and Jason. He is also survived by one grandson; as well as his furry friend.
