She was predeceased by: her husband Francis Yates; her sisters, Jeanette MacNeil and Irene McKinnon; her niece Tayler McKinnon; and her siblings-in-law, Gerry O'Donnell, Kevin Smith, John Brann, Ronald Bailey and Jacqueline Brann.
She is survived by: her parents, Louis Brufatto and Norma Brufatto (Moore); her children, Mark (Jennifer) and Tara; her grandchildren, Matthew, Jaelynn and Lucas; her siblings, Donald Brufatto (Darlene), Jim Brufatto (Bev), David Brufatto, Diane Smith, Pauline Coolen (John), Trish Gerrits (Ed) and Brenda Clements (Terry); and her siblings-in-law, Chris MacNeil, Rick McKinnon, Louie Yates (Geri), Weldie Yates (Joan), Darrell Yates (Ruth), Linda Bailey (Gordon Simms), Bev Brown (Rick) and Isabel Yates. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Sunday, October 14, at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the funeral service will be held Monday, October 15 at 2 p.m. with Fr. Norman McPhee officiating, both at TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St, Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palliative Care, the Cancer Center at CBRH or the SPCA.
