She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard 'Bud' and Gladys Penny (MacIntyre); her husband Ben; her grandson Roddie; and her sisters, Pearl and Gladys.
She is survived by: her children, Rene (Marilyn), Shaunna, Brett, Florence, Michele, Groves Point, Penni (Paul) and Corey; her grandchildren, Lindsay (Ryan), Lee Ann, Molly (Jason), Sam, Toni Jean and Sara; and her great grandchild Jax.
Memorial donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the Roddie Gillis Memorial Scholarship Fund at Memorial High School, Sydney Mines.
