He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Ellsworth Colter and Catherine "Kaye" Mary Colter (Mackenzie). He is survived by: his wife Lynne (Farrell); and his sons, Alex and James. He is also survived by in-laws; many cousins; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
