Nelson Joseph Thibault Obituary

Nelson Joseph Thibault, son of Willard and Margaret (Thibodeau) Thibault, passed away February 8, 2023 at the age of 92. Nelson was born December 1, 1930 in Doucetteville and grew up in Ashmore, Digby Co. Nelson moved to Toronto in 1953. He married the love of his life, Margaret, June 12, 1954. His first job there was at a greeting card factory then he tried out construction work until one day he stopped at a local garage and was offered a position as mechanic if he got his license. He eagerly went to night school and with the help from Margaret passed his exam. He worked as a mechanic until retiring. After working in Toronto for a few years they bought a house then eventually bought a cottage to go to on weekends and summers as well. Nelson and Margaret moved back to Nova Scotia in the 1980's, where he enjoyed his retirement years. Nelsons pastime included playing cards, crib and bingo. Nelson is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Theriault). His parents, Willard and Margaret, siblings, Carrie (Comeau), Ralph, Anna (LeBlanc) and Mabel. Cremation has taken place under the care of Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby. A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, May 26, 2023 at 1pm with Father Raymond officiating.
