He was predeceased by: his father Andrew Laurence Higgins; and his grandparents, Vernon, Lorna Hardwick, Andrew and Kathleen Higgins.

He is survived by: his mother Thelma Higgins; his sisters, Sherry Higgins and Kelly Murray (Jim); his nieces and nephews, Katie Murray, Falon Murray and Olivia Amero; and his great-nephews, Jude Murray and River Morrow. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
