He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jean, Shirley, Lorraine, Ronald and Sonny.

He is survived by: his pet Mia; his wife Peggy Amon; his stepdaughter Lisa Amon; his siblings, Carol Winchester (Harry), John Marriott (Shirley) and Marion Johnson (Roger); and his goddaughter Michelle Levings (Jason). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including his niece.

Ernie had a big heart for animals therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the TLC Animal Shelter or to the Digby Cancer Help Fund Association.
