He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Shipley and Mary Shipley (Ross); and his siblings, Lillian MacKillop, Hilda Stanton, George Shipley, Elroy Shipley and Charlie Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Shipley (Moore); his children, Linda Carrier (Allan), Gordie Shipley (Shelly), Sharon McLellan (Tim) and Mary Brown (Blake); his great grandchild Cooper; and his sisters, Ethel Crossman, Annie Goodwin and Rose Proctor. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
