It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Porter (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, who passed away on August 12, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Herb Porter and Margie Porter (Mackey); and her sister Kathryn. She is survived by: her siblings, Bill Porter (Dartmouth) and Linda Dawe (Pickering); her nieces, Kareen Clattenburg (Milton) and Tiffany Dawe (Pickering); her nephew Joel Dawe; her great-niece Kaia; her great-nephews, Christian and Kellan; and her caregiver Mary Liz Lambe.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Church, Gaston Road on August 24 at 1:00 pm, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dartmouth Branch SPCA, St. Clement Church or St. Clement CWL or the donor's choice.

“I was shocked to hear of Mary's passing. I read it in an unrelated message that our mutual friend, David Stone posted on Facebook yesterday. The three of us were brought together by David for a musical project and consequent four CD release on the Halifax Explosion. We shared many performances together over the years and I just loved her voice. I am so sad to know she is gone. May I send our condolences to her family and friends. Tony and Janet Mombourquette”
