He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus John "A. J." and Catherine "Kaye" Rose MacNeil (Delorey); and his siblings, Jackie, John L. and Florence.

He is survived by: his wife Isabell (MacDougall); his daughters, Melinda Somers (David) and Lisa Veldt (Bill); his grandsons, Drake, Nicholas and Hayden; his sisters, Marie Adams (Ken), Mary Rose and Delores Murphy (Roddy); and his nieces and nephews, Brian, Terry, David, Jay, Andre, Ryan, Terry, Shannon, Kimberly and Colleen. He is also survived by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joe's name to the S.P.C.A. would be his wish for his love of animals.
