With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Roderick Gillis of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 4, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gillis and Elizabeth Gillis (MacIntyre); and his siblings, Huey, Loretta and Eileen.

He is survived by: his wife Delores; his sons, Rick (Kathleen), Sheldon (Eun Jung) and Stephen (Lynn); his grandchildren, Jaqueline Gillis (Cedric), Jamie Preston (Letitia), Jessica Gillis, Melissa Preston and Sarah Preston (Carson); his great grandchildren, Mikayla Crouse and Danae Crouse; and his brothers, Charlie (Peewee) and Leslie (Les). He is also survived by his 8 great grandchildren.
