He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Kyte and Emma Donovan Kyte; his siblings, Wilfred (Bub), Patrick (Pat), Arthur (Art), Edna, Kathleen (Kay) and Charlotte; and his son Stephen.

He is survived by: his children, Clyde, Eric and Kathy (Walker); and his siblings, Clyburn, Philip, Emily, Frances, Vivian, Eleanor and Ann Marie.
