She was predeceased by: her parents, William McDowall and Elizabeth McDowall; her stepmother Carmen McDowall; and her sister Sally Mahar. She is survived by: her husband Gerald; her children, Kathryn (Duane Rudge), David (Sarah) and Shannon (Adam Gould); her grandchildren, Jakob, Cameron Mahar, Olivia and Alicia Nedelcu; her brothers-in-law, Victor Mahar (Rose Marie) and Gordon Mahar (Maureen Gorman); and also Ion Nedelcu.

Due to Covid restrictions, service and reception are by invitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation.
