She is survived by: her husband Captain Gerald R. Smith; her sons, Stephen Smith, Brian Smith and Bruce Smith (Wioletta Malko); her grandchildren, Sophia, Sienna, Katelyn and Jack; and her siblings, Edward, Wayne and Brenda (Frank Gammel). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
As a two-time breast cancer survivor, she was a strong supporter of both the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, for whom she spent many years canvassing.
