He was predeceased by: his parents, Appleton Roberts and Doris Roberts (Goodwin); his wife Carol Ann (Best); his brother Howard (Sonny); his brothers-in-law, Harold Bellefontaine (Thelma) and Tom McDonnell (Patty); and his nephew Scott Mansley.
He is survived by: his children, Gail Best (Craig Peacock), Andrew Higginbotham (Karen) and Doug Roberts (Shannon); his sisters, Thelma Bellefontaine, Carole Thibodeau (Paul), Pearl MacKeigan (Peter) and Patty McDonnell; his aunt Mayola Dobson (Bill); and his grandchildren, Rylie, Christopher, Kyle, Brona, Liam, Kolin and Kialah.
