He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine MacNeil (Lynk) and Charles MacNeil; and his siblings, Charlotte Gillis, Jessie Hilborn, John, Freeman and Grant.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Dixon (Betty); his grandchildren, Nolan, Maya, Brynn, Wyatt Mills, Catherine and Nora MacNeil; and his brother Fraser (Brenda). He is also survived by his in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
