She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Martell and Margaret Martell (Conway) of Louisbourg; her husband Charles Layton; and her sisters, Josephine Peck (Cliff) of Louisbourg and Edith Smith (Herbert) of Vancouver.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne (Daphne) and Wendell (Lee-Anne) of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Jennifer Coveyduc (Pityu), Pictou, Jeffrey Coveyduc (Denise), Connecticut, Kristen (Stew), Adam Coveyduc and Darmouth; and her great grandchildren, Zaria, Zoe, Zackary Connors, Griffin, Egan Coveyduc, Darien and Connecticut. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
