Arthur Covert Doherty Obituary

Age 82 passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital Oct. 6th 2022.

Art is survived by his wife of 34 years Karen; step children, Darlene, Sherry, Jeff, Natalie; sister Martha; niece, Susan; brother-in-law, Harold; grandchildren, Daniel, Taylor, Kelsey, Braden; step grandson, Jeff Walker; four great-grandchildren.

Art was known in the Dartmouth community for the wonderful planters he made which were sold as fast as he made them.

He was on oxygen for the last 7 years due to asbestos on his lungs. He loved cutting and splitting wood, hunting and bowling but he had to give up doing all of these things due to not being able to breathe well enough.

Art worked at the Halifax Shipyards for 33 years.

A special thank you to the best doctor in the country, Dr. Peter MacAulay in Cole Harbour, and the wonderful nurses and all health care workers on 4 E. They took wonderful care of Art and I want to thank them.

Cremation has taken place. At a later date his ashes with be scattered so he can soar with the angels.

Art was the best husband, step father, grandfather, friend and neighbor anyone could have and he is sorely missed.
