He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bent and Myrtle Bent (Milbury); his daughter Tracy; and his siblings, Marjorie Bent, Victor and Carl.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Smith; his children, Kelly Eastwood (John) of Hamilton, ON and Kevin (Julie) of Moncton, NB; and his grandchildren, Jack, Sadie Eastwood, Eric and Emily Bent.
