He was predeceased by: his brother Millard Smith; and his parents, Bill Smith and Jessie Smith. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Eleanor Smith (Ritchie); his children, Patrick Allen Gray Smith and Rebecca Margaret Smith (Brian Lockhart); his sisters, Maxiene Phinney and Norah Cameron (Gary); his sister-in-law Joanne Smith; and his brothers, Bill Smith (Peggy) and Mike Smith (Carol). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the to Hope for Wildlife, Canadian Diabetes Assoc., Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of one's choice.
