He is survived by: his parent Verna MacKay; his children, Jocelyn Nix (Randy Lake), James "Jim" Nix (Colleen) of New Glasgow, Blair Nix (Michelle Phinney) and Coldbrook; his sisters, Betty Peacock of Toronto, ON and Una Wallace (Donald) of Thorburn, NS; his half-brother John Black of Sackville, NB; his grandchildren, Cory Nix (Lynne) of Kingston, ON, Krista Nix of Kelowna, BC and Mallory Amirault of Vancouver; his great grandchildren, Jarrett Phinney and Jadyn Phinney; his friend Lois Fraser; and also Cheverie.
