He was predeceased by: his parents, Lancelot Garfield of Newfoundland and Bessie Rhoda Gillard (Butts) of Newfoundland; and his siblings, Lillian (Parker), Evanglene (Godfrey), Basil, Lloyd and Wally.
He is survived by: his sisters, Joyce (Peeters) of Ont, Betty Gillard of Ont and Carol Ann Hiscock; his cousin Kitchener; and his nephew Harvey Gillard Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
