He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Courtney and Sarah Courtney (Hardy); his sisters, Marilyn and Florence; and his nephews, Godfrey and Peter.

He is survived by: his grandchild Grampy; his daughter Trena (Mitch); his grandchildren, Lily, Mary and Jimmy; his son Russell (Marika); his grandchild Mya; his daughter Lori (Jason); his grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Emma and Sherry (Scott); his great grandchildren, Aiden, Ryder and Carla (Gavin); his son Raymond; his sister Deanna (Tom); his nieces and nephews, Heather, Hillary and Scott; and also, Aubree, Nathan and Clara. He is also survived by his partner of 31 years, and the children and grandchildren.
