With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Jean Hanhams (Canso, Nova Scotia), who passed away on September 1, 2018 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Bernard Kavanagh; her husband Captain Fred Hanhams; her siblings, Mike, Joe and Sheila; her niece Mary Brodowich; her godson Shane Deon; and her siblings-in-law, John Deon and Donna Kavanagh.
She is survived by: her parent Margaret D. "Peggy" Kavanagh (Pembroke); her children, Michael (Amanda) of Canso, David (Michelle) of Canso and Angela (Jerome); her brothers, Sandy (Martha), Paul of Ottawa, Buns (Darlene), Antigonish and Kevin "Abner"; her sisters-in-law, Veronica, June Kavanagh and Dartmouth; and her grandchildren, Kelsey (Trey), Erica, Brandon, Dalton, Dylan and Brooklyn. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Star of the Sea Parish or the Palliative Care Unit at Eastern Memorial Hospital both in Canso.
