He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hendsbee and Chelsie Hendsbee; and his siblings, Lindsay (Shirley) and Annie (James). He is survived by: his wife Dale Arlene Elizabeth (Winters); his children, Rodney (Ella Mae), Lori (Wallace) and Melanie (Arthur); his grandchildren, Nicolas (Haley), Jeshua (Emily) and Michael; his great grandchildren, Gemma, Monty and Eleanor; and his friends, Flloyd Hicken (Sue) and Havelock Hendsbee (Zelda). He is also survived by many nieces, nephew's, cousins and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eastern Memorial Hospital palliative care in memory of Hartley Hendsbee.
