He is survived by: his mother Norma Jean O'Hara; his wife Margaret "Margie"; his children, Morgan Smith (Jason Hardy), Matthew Norrie, Christopher Smith (Lori Lynn), Brent Smith and Ben Norrie (Coral); his sister Deborah Merrick (Paul) of Porter's Lake; his brother-in-law Bill Scott; his grandchildren, Luka Smith, Katelyn Smith, Oliver Norrie, Scotty Smith and Claire Smith; his nieces, Emilie, Shauna and Kathryn; his nephew Bradley; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alex, Paige and Boden.

Memorial donations in memory of Stephen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, Bridgewater.
