He was predeceased by: his parents, Parker Whynot and Emma Whynot (Whynot); and his siblings, Gregory "Bones", Diane, Patsy and Christine.
He is survived by: his wife Sara; his son Donald (BJ); and his siblings, Woodrow "Woody" (Susan), Lorraine and Sheila (George). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
