He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Shaw and Margaret Shaw; his former wife Betty Shaw; and his children, Bill Shaw and Terri-Lynn Shaw.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his children, Richard "Don" Shaw (Supatta), Karratha, Charles Shaw, Ian Shaw (Cathy) and Brenda Howie; and his brothers, Butch Shaw (Betty), Bedford, Hector Shaw (Kate), Fred Shaw and Chester. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association of Nova Scotia, S.H.A.I.D Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
