It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helena Alice Gower of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, born in Westport, Nova Scotia, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Coleman Dakin and Alida "Mae" Dakin (Glavin); her husband Franklin; her siblings, Irene Mercer, Herman and Richard Dakin; her grandson Brandon Read; and her son-in-law Dwight Outhouse.

She is survived by: her children, Veronica Howlett, Angela Outhouse, Wendy Read (Gerald), Natalie Isles (Bruce), Michael Gower (Dixie) and Barry Gower (Michelle). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Bridgewater Baptist Church or Our Daily Bread.
