Gilbert Borden Whynacht Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert Borden Whynacht of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Whynacht and Almeata Whynacht of Lunenburg; his wife Betty Whynacht; his siblings, Paulette, Lawrence, Basil, Leo, Douglas, Frank and Milford; and his brothers-in-law, David Weagle and Earl Spidell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra McKean (David), Pinehurst and Lynne Smith (Jack); his granddaughter Jennifer McKean (Ryan Anthony); his great grandchildren, Tia and Cali; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret "Margie" Spidell, Gregory Weagle (Dianne) and Richard Weagle. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sweeny's Funeral Home (35 York St, Bridgewater, NS B4V1R2).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Ryan Hall Recreation Fund.
