He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherlock Holmes and Pauline Holmes; his son Christopher; his brothers, Donald and Jimmy; his father-in-law Albert Parsons; and his sister-in-law Margaret Holmes.

He is survived by: his wife Anne (Parsons); his children, Angela (Ryan Conrad), David (Pamela Rhuland) and Joe (Cathy); his grandchildren, Cameron Holmes (Shania), Elizabeth Holmes and Carter Conrad; his great grandchild Hank Holmes; his mother-in-law Bessie Parsons; and his siblings-in-law, Winnie (Robert Rodenhiser), Katie (Jim Richardson), Rhona (Danny Carey), Valerie (Jeff Whynacht) and Albert Parsons (Jacquie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerry's memory to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Diabetes Canada or a charity of choice.
